A natural disaster is the greatest opportunity for a government to practice modern Monetary theory(MMT). A state of disaster has been declared in the KwaZulu Natal Provinces. All resources must be channelled to address the disaster. The only worryijg part is the mismanagement of resources (corruption) that is likely to happen.

Let them not be in monetary terms but any other terms that may fully equip the nation to learn from and use it wisely. 

By solely increasing funding for education in KwaZulu-Natal. You will be addressing unemployment. Employed people are highly likely to be able to recover more quickly to the natural disaster shock that their region has experienced. 

By increasing funding in infrastructure you are absorbing labour which will address your unemployment issue. Whilst also giving you the required experience to deal with future disaster more efficiently. From Roads, Housing, schools, evacuation centres, etc the province's infrastructure will be ready for any shock. 

In each disaster, the health sector jsbof the first sectors to experience a high volume of citizens flocking to their premises. Which if you increase funding for health. The sector will be able to hire more personal who are adequately equipped to address the patience the best way they see fit. 

In one of the discussions going around. The South African Government leads the way in spending on education and health. This is question all the time becaus as they say the end results are not something to be proud of. My focus here is that spending is not enough it should be more and more focused. 

The three main factors: education, health and infrastructure have huge spill overs that will drive the mostly commonly quoted economic growth that every economist mourns about.
